PURPOSE
Trace is a HealthTech app designed to help people document recurring health concerns over time and turn scattered observations into a clear, shareable health history. I explored the concept through rapid prototyping in Figma Make, then tested it through semi-structured interviews with four participants: three University of Illinois students and one professor who is a father. Their feedback showed that while the overall purpose and visual direction were clear, users needed a stronger distinction between a new health concern and an update to an existing one. I redesigned the experience around Person → Case → Entries, adding case-specific timelines, clearer actions, pattern insights, and a “Prepare for Doctor” summary. I continued iterating on the visual system, privacy considerations, and case management based on these findings. An onboarding tutorial was also added to address the pattern of interviewees finding it hard to clearly understand what the app is for at initial glance. A demo of this prototype was built with Cursor and uploaded to my GitHub repository.
