purpose
For this assignment, we were tasked with designing a vinyl cover and sleeve for a band while experimenting with image-making techniques using collage, clay, and frottage, and producing physical and in-situ mockups using InDesign templates. The process focused on developing a strong visual concept through hands-on material exploration before translating it into a refined design. In response, I chose to create sculptural imagery by moulding clay into shell forms to produce tactile, organic compositions. I photographed and scanned these physical forms, then assembled and refined the visuals digitally in Adobe Illustrator to develop the final artwork. I completed the sleeve layout in InDesign and produced both physical and contextual mockups to present the design in a realistic setting. The final piece was selected for the MSDx Exhibition at the University of Melbourne.
